Sorry I haven't posted in a while.
I have been very busy painting.
Here is a series of paintings I have done.
These are all 8X10 which I have
found is a nice small size.
I actually like how these turned out and
won't be sad if they don't sell!
Obviously I am not a photographer
and have a piece of junk camera. The colors and texture are much better than shown.

I've always liked paintings over black backgrounds.
These are not my favorites, but Aspen loved that I painted aspen trees for her.
She has been voted to have the coolest name in her class.
Ever since I was 16 I knew that's what I wanted to name my first girl.
It fits her so perfectly. She's awesome!

Here is the first poppy painting I did with watercolor and pen.
I need to find a better frame and mat from the thrift store.
I like to find cool frames and make art to go inside of them.

My neighbor had all this junk in her yard with the sign "free" on it. There was this big 2'x3' canvas with an ugly pastel desert landscape on it. (You know the kind I'm talking about!)
I grabbed it on my walk back from the bus stop. I painted this over it. For some reason I like this background. The weird painting behind it added to the texture. I kinda like how big this one is.
I might add some more grass or color, but I'm not sure.

I had fun experimenting with this background. I mixed this weird glaze concoction and then sprinkled seeds and petals in it for texture. Then I used acrylics in a watercolor style. Hey, after a long time of not doing this, it is all experimental.
I finished it off with a chop stamp that I got when I lived in China.

Here is a painting I sent to one of my friends who lost her baby girl after one week of life. In the painting it says "Life and Love are Eternal". It inspired me to start a new series called "windows". Basically it is going to be a series with cool windows capturing scenes inside that remind me of people and places that I know. It's just a good way for me keep memories alive when I am so far away from the people and places I love.
So don't be surprised if I paint one about any of you!

New Blog!!!

I've decided to finally blog! I have been creating a lot of art lately. I guess this is where I can show my family and friends what I am up to. It feels like I have been starving myself from painting and being creative. It has consumed much of my life now. It feels good to not think of the past and the future but to focus on today. I finally have an office and an art room where I can display what I have done and what I am doing.
I have become a very private person lately, so this is kind of a stretch for me. Only a select few will even know I am doing this. I really don't like the virtual world. It's so impersonal. But when you live away from family and friends it is a great way to keep in touch. So here goes. . .
